1. Anstruther to Pittenweem
Distance: 1.6 miles (2.5 km)

This short, scenic walk is ideal for a gentle stroll. Follow the well-maintained coastal path west out of Anstruther, passing Cellardyke Harbour before reaching the charming fishing village of Pittenweem. Along the way, look out for:
Seals basking on the rocks
Wading birds like redshanks and oystercatchers
Wildflowers such as sea thrift and coastal grasses in spring/summer
Tip: Stop for coffee or a treat at one of Pittenweem’s local cafés or visit the village’s art galleries.
2. Pittenweem to St Monans
Distance: 1.6 miles (2.5 km)

This flat section follows the coastline to St Monans, passing salt pans and windmill ruins that hint at the area’s industrial heritage. It’s a peaceful and historically rich stretch with:
Views across the Firth of Forth to East Lothian
Swallows and swifts diving over fields in summer
Butterflies and bees in the hedgerows and wildflowers
Tip: Don’t miss the photogenic St Monans church and harbour—perfect for a rest stop.
3. Anstruther to Crail
Distance: 4.5 miles (7.2 km)

A slightly longer and more rugged walk east from Anstruther takes you to the beautiful village of Crail, with its cobbled streets and historic harbour. Parts of the path are grassy or rocky underfoot, so wear proper footwear. Along the way:
Watch for dolphins offshore (especially early morning or late afternoon)
Spot seabirds like gannets, eiders, and cormorants
